Political Action

Throughout our history, we have made political action a major priority.  Making the political system more responsive was our first step in addressing many of the issues facing our communities. Voter participation and voter awareness are our major concerns. 

 

Women for Progress of MS supports the right of every citizen to vote. We believe that voting is a fundamental citizens' right that must be guaranteed. We believe in free and fair elections for every citizen. We oppose any action that may limit voter participation.  We support

• EARLY VOTING

• EXPANDED ABSENTEE VOTING

 

Women for Progress of MS, Inc. supports redistricting processes and enforceable standards that promote fair and effective representation at all levels of government with maximum opportunity for public participation.

 

Women for Progress of MS, Inc. believes government should ensure transparency, accountability, and preservation of the common good.  We do not support the transfer of governmental services, assets and/or functions out the City of Jackson, our Capital City.
